Clinical Notes
19-nor testosterone — one methyl shy of the parent molecule. Aromatisation is minimal (~20% of testosterone rate), but 5alpha-reduction produces DHN (dihydronandrolone), a weaker androgen than DHT — which is why androgenic side effects (scalp, prostate, acne) are lower than equivalent-mg testosterone. Progesterone receptor activity is measurable; libido suppression (deca-dick) is PR-mediated and dose-responsive, not purely an E2-crash artefact. Decanoate ester: 14-day half-life; biweekly dosing yields steady serum concentrations but 16–18-week detection windows make it unsuitable for tested competition. Suppresses HPTA profoundly — recovery is the longest in the AAS class, routinely 6–9 months post-cycle. hCG co-administration on-cycle (500 IU twice weekly) preserves testicular response volume.
