This is an advanced protocol. Trenbolone is 5× more androgenic and 5× more anabolic than testosterone by pure receptor binding but comes with a side effect list that makes it unsuitable for most users: sleep disruption, anxiety, sweats, potential prolactin issues, and the worst lipid profile of any mainstream AAS. Don’t run this as cycle 3 or 4. This is for people who’ve run Test-only, Test+Var, and maybe Test+Mast and know how their body handles androgens.
The protocol
| Week | Test E | Tren Ace | Anavar | Ancillaries |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–8 | 300mg/week | 300mg/week (50mg EOD) | 50mg/day | Anastrozole 0.5mg EOD · Caber 0.25mg 2×/wk · TUDCA 500mg/day · Taurine 3-5g/day |
| 9–10 | 300mg/week | Off | Off (liver cycle) | Continue support |
| 11–12 | Off | Off | Off | Fish oil 4g/day |
| 13–16 (PCT) | — | — | — | Clomid 50/50/25/25 · Nolvadex 40/20/20/10 |
Why these three specifically
Test base (300mg) — kept deliberately low. Tren covers the anabolic/androgenic load, so test only needs to maintain libido and cover estrogen production for general health. Higher test = more bloat, which defeats the cutting goal.
Tren Ace 300mg — short ester for clean clearance if you can’t handle the sides. 50mg EOD keeps peak-trough tight. Tren doesn’t aromatize so it doesn’t add to E2 management, but it IS progestagenic (prolactin management required).
Anavar 50mg — hardness, strength retention in deficit, doesn’t add to water retention. Anavar also mildly reduces SHBG, freeing more test. 8-week cap for liver protection.
Diet framework
500 kcal deficit below maintenance. Protein at 2.2-2.4 g/kg bodyweight. Carbs prioritized around training (30% of deficit calories peri-workout). Fats from fatty fish, olive oil, eggs — HDL support matters more than usual on this stack.
Cardio: 3-4 low-intensity sessions per week (zone 2, 30-40 minutes). Don’t push cardio intensity — tren spikes resting heart rate and stresses the cardiovascular system.
Side effect management
Sleep issues
The most common tren side. Night sweats that soak sheets, elevated resting heart rate during sleep, vivid anxiety-laden dreams. Mitigations:
- Pin tren in the morning, not evening
- Magnesium 400mg before bed
- Glycine 3g before bed
- Cool bedroom (18-19°C)
If sleep is completely wrecked past week 2, drop tren dose to 200mg/week or abort.
Lipid crash
Tren tanks HDL harder than any other AAS. Pull a lipid panel at week 4. If HDL is below 25, you’re in dangerous territory — abort tren and finish on test + var. Fish oil 4g daily is mandatory, not optional.
Prolactin
Cabergoline 0.25mg twice weekly from day 1. Some users need 0.5mg. Target: prolactin < 15 ng/mL at week 4.
Mental effects
Tren makes some guys short-tempered, anxious, or paranoid. If your relationships start suffering or you can’t control irritation in traffic, you’re at the wrong dose. This is a drug, not a personality. Drop it if the sides don’t resolve by week 3.
Bloodwork — aggressive schedule
- Baseline (week -2): Full panel
- Week 4: Full panel including prolactin, lipid panel, complete blood count
- Week 8 (end of tren/var): Full panel
- Week 14: Lipids (should be recovering)
- Week 16 (post-PCT): Full recovery panel
What to expect
- Week 1–2: Rapid body recomposition. Strength surge despite deficit. Initial water shed from starting Anavar.
- Week 3–4: Visible hardness. Vascularity. Sleep starts getting rough if you’re prone.
- Week 5–6: Peak conditioning phase. This is when the photos look dramatic.
- Week 7–8: Start tapering cardio — tren finish is coming and you want to avoid crashing too hard.
- Week 9–10: Test-only. Most gains retained. Energy dips a bit as tren clears.
- Week 11–12: Clean window before PCT. Maintain calories at maintenance.
Expect 4-8kg of fat loss with significant lean mass retention if diet is disciplined. The photos at week 6-8 are usually the best you’ll look all year.
Not for
- Anyone on cycle 1, 2, or 3
- Anyone with pre-existing cardiovascular concerns
- Anyone who can’t tolerate sleep disruption (jobs requiring sharp morning cognition)
- Anyone who hasn’t done blood work before
